Poster Presentation Guidelines

Poster Format

  • Size: A0 or similar.
  • Orientation: Vertical (portrait) encouraged.
  • Language: English only.

Content Suggestions

  • Include the title, author(s), and institutional affiliation(s) at the top.
  • Clearly structure content into sections such as: Introduction / Objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion / Conclusions.
  • Use visual elements (graphs, images, maps, charts) to complement the text.
  • Keep text concise and legible. Use bullet points and avoid long paragraphs.
  • Include author’s contact information or a QR code for follow-up questions.
  • You will be expected to print and bring your poster with you to the Conference. Printing will not be provided by the Organisers.
Oral Contribution Guidelines

Presentation Format

  • Presenters are advised to use standard Office format (PowerPoint), fonts and, if necessary, embed videos into the slides.
  • Presenters will be required to provide the presentation file in advance to their assigned session. Instructions will be provided.
  • There will be a chair in the room to introduce each presenter, moderate the Q&A for each talk and ensure you keep to the time. Practice your timing to ensure the rest of presenters and programmed activities are not affected by any delays. Chairs will cut you short if you are not finished in time.
  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes earlier to your session.
  • Presenters will be informed about the time they will have to present their work with enough time in advance (10-15 minutes depending on the number of presenters during the session).
  • Language: English will be the default language during the Conference, unless special sessions in Spanish are indicated in the Programme.

Roundtable Guidelines

Format

  • Each roundtable will be coordinated by a proposer who will invite and organize 3–4 additional experts.
  • Duration: 75 minutes (including discussion and Q&A), although duration will be confirmed to the proposer once the programme is finalised.
  • Language: English.

Structure & Content

  • The coordinator defines a specific and relevant theme.
  • 3–4 guiding questions or discussion points proposed in advance.
  • Brief introduction and justification by the coordinator.
  • Experts contribute short inputs (not full presentations).
  • Reserve 20–30 minutes for audience questions and discussion.

Responsibilities of the Coordinator

  • Submit an abstract proposing the roundtable.
  • Invite and confirm participation of all members.
  • Share guiding questions before the conference.
  • Moderate discussion and ensure timing/participation balance.
Special Session Guidelines

Format

  • A panel of 3–4 expert contributions.
  • Duration: 75 minutes (including discussion and Q&A).
  • Language: English (unless otherwise specified).

Structure & Content

  • All contributions address a common theme relevant to risk analysis.
  • Short presentations (10–15 minutes each), followed by discussion.
  • Close with joint reflection among panelists and audience.

Responsibilities of the Session Organizer

  • Submit an abstract proposing the session.
  • Invite and confirm participation of all panel members.
  • Ensure coherence and complementarity of contributions.
  • Moderate the session and Q&A.
Pre-conference Workshop Guidelines

Format

  • Duration: 75 minutes.
  • Language: English.
  • Scheduled for the day before the official conference opening (May 26th, 2026).

Structure & Content

  • Training or educational orientation, not only presentations.
  • Recommended formats: interactive lectures, practical exercises, group work, or case studies.
  • Topics may include basic/introductory risk analysis, specific skills, or training for Master’s/PhD students and early-career researchers.

Responsibilities of the Workshop Leader(s)

  • Submit an abstract proposing the workshop.
  • Design the workshop for active participation and learning outcomes.
  • Provide clear materials (slides, handouts, datasets, exercises).
  • Manage timing to cover content and interaction.
